#FOTUS: Nothing To See Here, Folks, Just Bad Optics — Cohen, Broidy, SDNY & Roe’s Fate

by Shelton Bumgarner

It’s rather astonishing that Elliot Broidy is so oblivious to optics that he would stop paying Shera Bechard’s hush money at the very moment the SDNY has about 1 million files from the dirty dealing of Trump fixer Michael Cohen. It looks really bad. Really bad. All it does it make everyone look again at the FOTUS theory — that it was Trump, not Broidy, who got Bechard pregnant and paid her off to have an abortion.

Now that we’re fighting an epic battle for the fate of Roe, a lot of people desperate for some way to end this nightmare will cling to the idea that Broidy refusing to pay to Bechard means now that the SDNY has all those files, he think’s it’s moot to keep paying Bechard because we’ll all find out that it was Trump after all.

Unless Bechard confesses that it was Trump and shows me proof she had a romantic relationship with him, for me this is all over. It was Broidy and the people involved are just dumb relative to their very tight connection to POTUS. They are doing Trump no favors as he heads into a heated SCOTUS battle, that’s for sure.

But now that we’re on the cusp of a Bonfire of the Vanities moment, the fact that it’s possible we might have undeniable proof that Cohen and Broidy pressured Bechard to have an abortion in exchange for $1.6 million would be an astonishing bombshell to say the least. The rank hypocrisy of the GOP hell bent on ending Roe would be laid bare. Not that it would change the outcome — Roe is going to be overturned, no matter what, but this clusterfuck might break the Internet for a few days as everyone processed it.

And, yet, maybe nothing will happen. Maybe I’m overthinking this. But all the elements are there for something pretty speculator to happen.
