I vaguely remember writing about this before, but it’s something that still on my mind — the idea that OpenAI may be the Netscape Communications of the AI era. It is at least within the realm of possibility that this would be the case.
These days, I’m bombarded by Gemini on all the different Google products I use and that is much like how Microsoft shoehorned it’s browser into every possible nook and cranny of its tech ecosphere.
So, I suppose it’s possible that OpenAI will be overwhelmed by Google through sheer force of its monopolistic will. It’s at least possible that will happen. But who knows, really.
It will definitely be interesting to see going forward.
