The Curious Case of UAPs

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

There is a lingering mystery in the air when it comes to Unidentified Aerial Phenomena. I find it astonishing that we honestly have no idea what the fuck is going on with UAPs and yet the idea has — to date- gotten zero traction in the public imagination.

Given just a little bit of thought, however, this is kind of bonkers. There are strange, powerful objects zipping around the skies of the globe and we have no idea what they are or where they’re from? Why is no one freaking out about this? It’s all very strange.

The most obvious explanations — that either a state or non-state actor has come up with some very, very advanced technology — doesn’t seem to fit what’s going on. So, there is the third, seemingly impossible option: these UAPs are probes are of non-human origin.

If we accept that the seemingly impossible is, in fact, what’s going on…that really opens a can of worms. And, yet, this idea doesn’t seem to matter to the general population. The idea that ETs are using probes to take regular looky-loos at Humanity should at least give people…pause for thought?

But, no. Nothing. Nobody cares.

It seems as though the only way anyone is going to care is if there is Hard First Contact with little green men landing on the front lawn of the White House. It’s enough to make one believe that if the government did release what it might know about ETs that…no one would care.

Only space nerds would get excited, everyone else would go back to fighting over the culture wars.

Did An Space Alien Land In A Backyard in Las Vegas?

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

If you searched for the answer to that question and found yourself here, sorry –I’m very lazy and I’m just going to give you an off the cuff answer to that question. If you want a journalistic-level inquiry, “do your own research” via Twitter and Tik-Tok.

Ok, here’s the thing, some dudes in the Las Vegas area claim that an 8 foot tall alien crashed his ship — or something — in their backyard. There’s some confusing, grainy video footage of the event, but — surprise! — no actual clear footage of the “alien.”

I only even talk about this because one, UFOs are having a “moment” and two, the mainstream reaction has been almost non-existent. This leads you to wonder what the reaction would be if there was real, honest-to-God “hard First Contact” that was irrefutable.

I’m coming to believing that rather than some sort of huge panic, that we would just shrug. It wouldn’t be until shit started blowing up that anyone would care. People just don’t have the necessary bandwidth process something as profound as First Contact.

As such, if actually happened, people wouldn’t care — that much.

Space nerds like me, of course, would be stunned that the biggest event in human history besides the birth of Jesus and the European discovery of the New World had just happened.

I don’t know. It’s all very curious. Does make you wonder if maybe something “wonderful” might be about to happen in a rather unexpected, spectacular manner sooner rather than later.

Little Green Men, Or: MAGA Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

I don’t know if I should laugh or cry at how MAGA (and the far Left RFK, Jr) are using the news of credible evidence of UFOs to tout their bonkers conspiracy theories. It’s very, very fucking annoying.

Has no one learned the idea that correlation is not causation?

Just because things are similar, or seem to be acting in conjunction with each other, doesn’t mean the fuckinig are!

But this crazy, bonkers rhetoric on the part of professional idiots has gotten me thinking — what if Hard First Contact came? What would be the political reaction?

It seems to me that after the shock wore off, the center-Left would be interested in finding out more about the ETs, while the center-Right would grow hysterical and probably eventually want to either blow them up or convert them to some sort of weird interstellar Christianity.

I wish I was kidding.

But America is sooooo fucking divided and growing more so every day that there simply is no way that anything — ANYTHING — will force us to get our act together.

That’s why late 2024, early 2025 COULD be a rather monumental moment in time. I’m always — always — wrong, so, lulz, we may just muddle through things like we always do…..but I am worried.

It seems like either a full-blown descent into fascist autocracy is going ot happen as part of the 2024 – 2025 timeframe, or we have a civil war (Reds)/ revolution (Blues.).

At the moment, I think we’re probably just going to slide peacefully into autocracy and that will be that. If we’re lucky. And it will probably all be so subtle that we don’t even realize it.

Why Now?

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

It’s very possible that we’ve just about reached a similar situation as what happened in the lead up to Columbus “discovering” the New World –everyone will know something is true, just not the details. In 1492, everyone pretty much knew not only that the world was round, but it’s size. In fact, the big mistake that Columbus made was thinking that the world was more of a pair that a sphere.

The same thing is going on with extraterrestrials.

It’s growing more and more acceptable that believe that We’re Not Alone. In fact, it makes you wonder if maybe The Powers That Be have decided to something akin to a “soft launch” of First Contact for some reason. By why? Why would do they pick now to do such a historic thing?

They say how you approach space aliens says a lot about what you think about God and, as such, I guess you’re going to be able to discern something about me with the following.

There are A LOT of different options whenever you talk about UFOS, but there is a key issue that a lot of people ignore — it’s not exactly like humanity is being quiet. We’re spending out an endless deluge of radio waves that any sort of ET civilization has had time to study. And if it’s true that they’ve actually visited earth to the point that the Airforce has probes in its possession, there’s every reason to believe that ETs aren’t the type of send mysterious Monoliths to us.

They know EVERYTHING about us and it’s very possible that there MIGHT be some sort of backchannels that exist between the governments of the world (or at least the USA) and any aliens and MAYBE because of things like AI the aliens have sort of forced the hand of the US government — hard First Contact is on its way, time to prep the populace.

Or not.

I have no idea.

But all these developments on the UFO front are very…curious.

I still think that First Contact will happen like “a theft in the night” and, lulz, it may never happen — or at least not in my lifetime.

But everything that is going on at the moment is…something to think about.

A Potential ‘Big Shrug’ for ‘Hard’ First Contact?

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

I find ANY suggestion that there is proof of Hard First Contact very dubious. I mean, how the fuck did the Little Green Men get here, to begin with? But, putting aside those concerns, the idea that the U.S. Airforce may be in possession of some sort of alien probe is very curious.

What’s even more curious is, it’s very possible that we may have proof of ETs and…nothing will happen. We’re all so being sucking our own cocks as we debate if this or that thing is “woke” that we won’t even care that The Single Biggest Event In Human History has be proven.

I can only think of a hand full of events that would be equal to Hard First Contact. The birth of Jesus. The discovery of the New World by Europeans. Splitting the Atom. Landing on the Moon.

That’s about all I got.

But it remains to be seen if what we’re being told is true turns out to be true. Yet there is hope — if it becomes clear to The Powers That Be that no one gives a shit that Hard First Contact has happened…it’s a lot more likely that The Truth about that issue will become known.

At least, that’s my hope.

The ultimate endgame of all of this is we’re all going to know that we’re not alone in the Universe and no one will care. Space nerds will whisper about this or that additional discovery, maybe by the James Webb Space Telescope, but in the end only if Little Green Men land on the front lawn of the White House will the average person care.

Watch Me Waste Time Speculating About First Contact Because of That Dumb Balloon That Was Shot Down

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

While it definitely would put a pep in my step if First Contact happened because the U.S. Government shutdown what it thought was a Chinese spy balloon over Alaska, I find the entire idea very, very dubious. So, to that extent, what I’m writing at this very moment is a huge waste of time.

But, lulz, I have a little spare time on my hands, let’s waste time and imagine what the consequences of First Contact might be in this situation.

First, I would note that America is so divided that I can’t even have a jovial conversation about this dumb story with my Traditionalist relatives because the story would inevitably pivot a pitched rhetorical battle over Biden not shooting down the first balloon. It’s all very sad.

Anyway, what makes this particular incident different is there is wreckage to inspect. So, theoretically, once we have an opportunity to examine that wreckage we will know one way or another what the fuck was shot down. Now, if it was of non-terrestrial origin, the natural inclination of the U.S. Government would be to classify the whole thing and act like nothing happened.

So, if there was anything of note about the object shot down out of the ordinary, then the U.S. Government would be in something of a sticky wicket. If they classify everything — for any reason — then a thousand conspiracies are born. Meanwhile, if they tell what really happened — if it is not human — we face a rather abrupt First Contact.

The reason why this particular situation would be different is it wouldn’t be an abstract — there would be actual evidence that aliens have the technology to traverse the vast expanse of space to reach earth. The implications of that would definitely be a Day The Earth Stood Still moment.

The idea that not only are we Not Alone, but aliens have the technology to reach the humanity would be staggering.

Of course, if we learned that the balloon was actually some sort of alien probe, the wreckage would instantly be the most valuable in human history and there would be calls to turn it over to the UN (or whatever.) Then you have a huge battle over Who Owns It and who Gets To Study It.

I have my doubts that there would be any violence if we did have First Contact. And I suspect that instead of unifying humanity, we’re probably just going to be even more divided as different powers demand look at the wreckage.

In other words, everything sucks.

I will note, however, that I have a feeling that given all the weird things we’re learning (with no explanation) about what’s going on in skies around the globe. It’s at least possible that some sort of ETs are doing regular looky-loos of humanity, we just haven’t managed to shoot them down.

The UFO Conundrum

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

The core reason why UFOs collectively cause us all a huge problem is it’s easy for us to get all worked up…and then nothing happens. That’s why it’s so difficult for UFOs to be taken seriously. Over the last 70 or so years, we’ve all been left waiting for something to happen…and it never does.

I would say at the moment, all we can confirm is that there have been credible reports of things flying around in the air that we can’t explain. That’s it. We don’t know what they are and we don’t know where they came from. Because of the magical thinking associated with conspiracy theories, it’s natural for people to make the leap into, “Well, obviously, the government has made First Contact and is hiding it from us.”

When, that is a leap with absolutely no evidence to back it up. It’s a shit tone of wishful thinking. Though, to be fair, every once in a while, so old guy high up in a government here or there around the world will give something akin to a deathbed confession where he goes on at great length about what appears to be some rather fantastical post-secret-First Contact things.

But even under the most charitable of circumstances, without any proof that any of this is real, there are simply way, way too many hurdles to overcome. For such things to be real, not only would aliens have to be real, have been interested in humans enough to come to earth, but the government would have had the wherewithal to keep the whole thing secret and THEN somehow manage to have astronauts in tunnels under Mars.

As such, again, it’s safe to assume that there are, on occasion, things whizzing around the world’s skies that we can’t explain. That’s it. That’s the extent of what is safe to believe.

UFOs Are Real: Now What?

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

Here are the options we face when it comes to the UFOs that the Pentagon told us are “real.”

  1. It’s a Psyop
    All of this is just the US government fucking with us in an effort to distract us from something. What, though?
  2. It’s all a big misunderstand called by faulty equipment
    It’s all just easily explainable telemetry problems that may be connected to number one.
  3. Private companies have Singularity technology
    We’ve reached the Singularity via private companies. They have all these technological goodies they’re keeping from us — for some reason — and they’re going to slowly roll them out over the next few decades to maximize profit.
  4. The US government has Singularity technology
    What we’re seeing is some DARPA, NSA, CIA shit. Why they would not only be spying on their own military base but also be so conspicuous about it is unknown.
  5. Foreign governments have Singularity technology
    China and Russia (at least) have developed extremely advanced technology and, instead of using it to dominate the globe NOW, are keeping it secret so…they can use it at some point in the future?
  6. ETs.
    Probes — or something — from a highly advanced Galactic Empire have travel across the vastness of space, only to hang out on the Eastern seaboard and do really conspicuous shit that all but assures they will eventually be known about by the broader human public.

The Trouble With UFOs

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

Both options when it comes to the recent sightings of UFOs by the USAF come with some serious problems. Let’s look at the two options and struggle with their individual problems.

ETs
If the UFOs are of alien origin, then their appetence is somewhat underwhelming. That they would do something so prosaic as simply hang out off the American eastern seaboard to monitor a U.S. Navy base is…kinda of meh. If you have the ability to travel the light years necessary to get to earth, why do something as dull as that? Also, why haven’t other nations come forth to say they’ve seen similar things? Why would the U.S. Government be the only one in the world to show such footage? Lastly, I struggle to believe that if aliens had the ability to get to earth that they wouldn’t also have the technology necessary to make themselves invisible. I know that’s jumping to conclusions, but it’s a reasonable assumption to make.

Humans
If you were a foreign government that had developed technology far, far more advanced than the US Government, why would you blow your secret on something as dumb hovering conspicuously off the coast of the United States? It definitely seems as though whomever designed these craft (drones?) wanted us to know they existed.

Bonus Issue:
Why has the U.S. Government changed its tune on UFOs so abruptly? I know there’s some sort of report that’s supposed to come out soon that Congress will be given…but that seems like just a fig leaf for a bigger reason. What that “bigger reason” my be, I have no idea. It’s all very curious.

Struggling With All The UFO News Of Late

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

One’s thoughts on ETs usually says a lot about your take on God. I’m not prepared to believe 100% that ETs exist because of faith, but the news that the USAF has seen a lot of UFOs the last few years definitely gives me pause for thought.

That’s some sort of evidence you can point to and say maybe the galaxy really is full of little green men — or whatever. But things are extremely muddled. How is it possible that the USAF is constantly seeing highly advanced UFOs whizzing around just off the coast and yet that’s all the evidence we have of them. Where are the reports from other parts of the world? And why have we still not had any high quality imagines of these UFOs, period?

It makes you wonder what’s going on.

Or put another way — there are a few elements of this evidence that don’t make sense. We don’t know beyond a shadow of a doubt that these UFOS are nothing more than technology that has been developed in secret by Russia or China.

So, I don’t know.

The whole thing is curious.
