A National Ban On Abortion Is Inevitable Once We’re ‘A Very American Autocracy’

by Shelt Garner

With the decision on the part of Kansas to keep abortion legal, there has been a lot of cheering on the part of the center-Left. And, yet, the United States is also careening towards A Very American Autocracy.

One of the first things that will happen when that Very American Autocracy is established is a national ban on abortion. It’s pretty much an immutable law of nature at this point, or at least of future history.

In fact, I will go so far as to say the absolute last point of choice between autocracy or civil war will be that national ban is passed. When wealthy liberal women in Blue States can’t have a legal abortion and they just leave the country instead of putting political pressure on the system for a civil war.

I just don’t see us having a civil war. We’re careening towards a peaceful transition into autocracy and that will be that. No going back. If we’re lucky, we’re going to be a Hungary-style autocracy, if we’re not lucky, we’re going to be something akin to Nazi Germany.

This is happening in broad daylight. Republicans are telling us in public what they’re up to. And, in the end, what’s going to happen is voting will be moot and we’re going to be A Very American Autocracy.

Get out while you can.
