‘Do Something’ — Thinking The Unthinkable With House Trump

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

I am extremely reluctant to suggest an actual civil war may happen in the United States over the 2020 election. I’ve long thought it would be more of a situation of rolling political violence than an actual civil war. But, sadly, I’m coming to believe that the results of the 2020 election will be so contested, so up for different interpretations that there will, in fact, be a civil war.

Before we get to that point, let’s look at how a civil war would be the absolute worst case scenario for House Trump. The reason is, House Trump has a lot — AT LOT — of other options at their disposal. They come in phases.

Phase One
This phase involves brazen ratfucking of the democratic process that, on the face of it, will work exceptionally well. It will happen in the lead up to the November election. Trump is already slowing down the mail. And it’s generally assumed that the bullshit Durham investigation is going to indict if not Biden himself, a whole slew of people from the Obama Administration who are so close to Biden as to greatly reduce this chances of winning. As such, it’s very easy to imagine Trump does “win” the election with minimal effort. He loses California by 5 million votes and wins Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Florida by about the same margin as he did in 2016. Also in this phase would be the Russians hacking directly into our election systems in such a way as to pad Trump’s victory in swing states by just enough to give him the legitimacy he craves.

Phase Two
It is far less likely that Trump will even have to get to this phase, but it’s possible. Phase Two would only happen if he obviously loses the Electoral College. In this phase, he sues any and everyone in his path. He demands that the legislatures of swing states not validate the vote. Anything that is an hindrance to his victory he sues into oblivion. In this phase, his goal is to simply cause enough doubt in the eyes of the public that should he lose, he can always claim he really won. This opens up a lot of options as things progress. He knows that SCOTUS probably has his back and, as such, he can make sure that his Electors are certified when the time comes and he “wins.” Remember, the country is both extremely divided, the center-Left is extremely ineffectual and generally everyone is too apathetic to do anything. And, like any autocrat, all Trump cares about is power, so fuck you. He just doesn’t care about anything but power and greed. That’s it. As long he has power, you can complain on social media all you want, it just doesn’t matter.

Phase Three
I really, really don’t expect it to go this far. House Trump simply has too many tricks up its sleeves. And, yet, if somehow Trump STILL faces losing the election, Trump is simply going to throw down the gauntlet. He’s going to break the final taboo — the peaceful transition of power. There are too many variables for me to be able to predict anything specific, but something like Trump directly calls for a popular revolt by MAGA that then prompts the U.S. Military to step in is at least within the realm of possibility. Or it could be the other way — Trump is so extremely ham-handed in his theft of the 2020 Election that it’s the 60% of the electorate that hates his guts that rises up and then the military really faces a conundrum — if Trump is “legally” president, but only through a lack of a free and fair election, what do they do? And that would be how we would have an actual civil war. That’s how the country simply implodes and a lot of people lose their lives unnecessarily. How long this civil war would last would be another issue. I struggle to imagine states leaving the Union like after the election of 1860, but it is possible martial law might be declared and Trump would simply rule by decree.

The issue is, House Trump has the full support of the fascist Republican Party and, as such, it makes a lot of sense that in the end they would be willing to follow Trump into a direct fascist dictatorship. Once they consolidated power, there really wouldn’t be any restraints on House Trump. There might be a lot of happytalk about how there would be elections “later on,” but before that could happen House Trump would call up a Constitutional Convention that would, at last, codify their control over the country.

Then Trump’s dystopian nightmare vision of America would become a reality. Mass arrests. People being pushed out of windows. Trump have Putin-levels of control over the government and society. This, of course, on a macro level is going to happen one way or another very, very soon. But people keep thinking it will be Tom Cotton or Mike Pompeo who does it 10 years from now. It could very well be Trump himself, with significant assistance from Interior Minister Bill Barr.

And, as such, unless a lot of people are willing to back up their smack talk on social media in the real world that will involve real world risks, House Trump will be around for decades to come. I’m thinking at least 20, maybe 40 or more. I guess the United States had to end sometime. I just never thought it would end in my lifetime.

Countdown To American Fascism: Now What

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

The thing about America’s decent into fascism is how obvious it all is and yet Twitter liberals continue to be painfully oblivious. There won’t be a free and fair election this fall and we all have to prepare for the consequences of that. The history books will mark the end of liberal democracy in the United States as the day Trump was acquitted by the Senate.

We are now in a fascist state. The bad guys have won. We have to turn our attention from scoring points on Twitter to figuring out how to live in a fascist state. The key point we have to understand fully is the Republican Party is fascist. It sees democracy as only a means to an end. That’s why Trump gets away with acting so surreal — Republicans only see themselves as legitimate. Anyone else with any power is to be destroyed at all costs. And, really, the logic is there for them to start murdering people in cold blood, it’s just a matter of the circumstances being right.

I refuse to delude myself. The fascist have won and will likely either snatch me off the street or push me out a window at some point in Trump’s stolen second term. This is an absolute law of political nature at this point. But, simply to be fair, I will entertain a few scenarios where that will at least be punted down the road a (few) years.

There are a few major problems for the fascists going forward.

Trump Is A Self Own Artist
I find this plausible, but just barely. Trump is not a political genius, no matter what The New York Times‘ Maggie Haberman thinks. He’s just a very lucky moron. So, it is at least possible that at some point between now and when the Electors vote, he’ll pull defeat from the jaws of victory. He’ll screw up in some way that he can’t weasel his way out of. This has happened to him a few times over the last four years. To date, he’s always managed to avoid any real accountability, but if he did it at just the wrong time during his efforts to steal the election, well, lulz.

Trump Is Barely Sane
Connected to the first issue is Trump being bonkers. He’s just barely holding on his mind. Now, this is not quite the fatal flaw you think it is — Interior Minster Barr will simply do whatever is necessary to keep House Trump in power, even if Trump finally snaps in a way that is so conspicuous it can’t be hidden.

Electors Are Human Beings
I have long assumed that Trump’s criminality and his insanity would merge if there was any risk he might actually lose. That’s happening a little bit, but if really did feel he was going to lose, he would strike at the weakest link of the Constitution — the human beings who are Electors. He is going to dox them on Twitter. Or to “joke” on Twitter that MAGA should remind them of the power of the Second Amendment. And, Electors being human beings is such an unpredictable variable that I simply can’t for sure tell you how that might work out. It’s just possible that everything will completely be thrown up in the air and the entire country will come to know the personalities of all the Electors in a way we never felt possible. It could be that the Electoral College is finally abolished because we have the political equivalent of 9/11 in 2020. It’s barely possible, but any time humans are involved, all bets are off.

Both Trump and Biden Are Old
I have nothing personal against Trump. Live long and prosper, you fucking criminal. I would prefer he be arrested the moment he’s out of office and put in jail for the rest of his life where he could “prosper,” but that’s unlikely to happen. Anyway, I want a political solution to the cancer that is MAGA, but I will note that if either one of the major presidential candidates were physically indisposed for some reason — especially if it was really, really late in the process — then you ain’t see nothing yet. Some really, really surreal things might happen.

But none of this is going to happen. Trump is going to successfully steal the election and that will be that. Fascism in America is no longer something that “may” happen at some point in the future — it’s here, now.

Just like with Brexit, the worst is going to happen. We’re in for 20 to 40 years of fascist rule in the United States. We’re going to be identical to Putin’s “managed democracy” in Russia. There will be a Constitutional Convention at some point in Trump’s stolen second term that will pass Enabling Acts and, well, that’s it. This is an absolute certainty.

The reason it’s an absolute certainty is Twitter liberals are delusional. They don’t realize how dirty the fascist Republicans are going to play if there’s any doubt of their final victory. And, a such, Republicans are going to willingly embrace fascism.

I wish I was smart enough how to survive the new fascist state of affairs in the United States. But I’m not. You’re on your own.

The Three Immutable Victories Of House Trump

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

Here are three victories that House Trump has either racked up or will rack up very, very soon.

Senate Acquittal
Trump was never going to be convicted by the Senate. In fact, history books are likely going to mark his acquittal as the end of the United States and the formal birth of the Fourth Reich. America is now a fascist state. The only reason why we can’t process this as the fact that it is is our self-perception hasn’t changed accordingly. Twitter liberals remain in some sort of Rachel Maddow-induced fever dream where something or someone is going to magically save us from this nightmare.

Stealing The 2020 Election
We are deluding ourselves to think Trump isn’t going to endup on top when all is said and done. He has hundreds of powerful enablers both inside and out of government. He is going to win, even if he has to burn everything to the ground to do it. In fact, he is such an absolute avatar for some astonishing existential problems in America’s political system that his insanity and his criminality could literally fuse and he would still win. He’s just not going anywhere. He wasn’t going to get convicted by the Senate and he’s not going to lose the 2020 Election.

Passing American Enabling Acts
At some point early in Trump’s stolen second term, he’s going to begin to rant about the need for a Constitutional Convention to “pass a balanced budget amendment.” This will all be a ruse to pass American Enabling Acts. There will be a lot of gashing of teeth by Twitter liberals who will tell us breathlessly that THIS will be the thing to bring down House Trump. Nope. Ultimately, House Trump’s power will be codified and that will be that. We will a long last be a white Christian ethno-state. This is absolutely going to happen. Now, there’s a chance it might happen during a Cotton or Pompeo Administration and not Mad King Trump I’s rule, but it is going to happen. That’s the end game of about 30 years of Republican macro ratfucking.

Anyway. I have to figure out how to either leave the country or hide so I don’t get pushed out a window.

We Have To Stop Laughing At Trump

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

Given that there is apparently absolutely no way to hold House Trump accountable for anything it does, maybe if we stopped laughing at it we might get some long-absent accountability. Right now, Twitter is awash with 90% laughter at House Trump and 10% people saying, “Oh my God, we’re a fascist state.”

The crucial thing we have to realize is if Trump has gotten this far and it’s this hard to get rid of him, then obviously there are some very, very serious things going on with the United States — Trump just happens to be a very lucky moron avatar for it.

In other words, America is a fascist state now. And apparently, something about Obama’s second term turned the Republican Party into the political equivalent of a rabid raccoon. Despite the fever dreams of many of Twitter liberal — the Republican Party is not going anywhere and is, in fact, stronger than ever among the people it aims to represent. Republicans want the autocratic “managed democracy” that people like me fear. That’s what they want.

In fact, we’re already there.

The only thing stopping House Trump from the final consolidation of its power is Trump himself. If Trump really was some sort of political genius, he would consolidate power now before the election and that would be that. But Trump is barely hanging on mentally and is criminally incompetent at even the most basic levels of governance so it’s a struggle for him to do this.

Not that he won’t, he will, only at some point early in his stolen second term.

And I don’t think Twitter liberals really appreciate how serious things are right now. Liberal democracy in the United States is dead, but American’s self-perception hasn’t caught up with this cold, hard reality and so once House Trump makes this reality a bit more clear to Americans there might be a bit of a political kerfuffle.

But Trump has a sold 38% of the electorate that craves his autocratic rule — that’s why the voted for him in the first place — and, as such, Trump will ultimately win any last struggle traditional democratic elements in the United States might put up.

This is an absolute law of political nature right now. Just like it was delusional of anyone to think the Senate would ever convict Trump, it’s delusional for anyone to believe Trump will ever leave office for any political reason. He may one day leave office, but won’t be because politics failed him.

No one is going to save us. No scandal will bring down House Trump. We’re never going to see his taxes. Trump will never see any accountability for any reason.

So maybe the only thing we have left is to stop laughing and figure out how to survive living in a fascist state. In the end, maybe 20 to 40 years from now, a new nation may arise from the ashes of the United States, but it won’t be the United States.

The United State is dead.

What Might Go Wrong For House Trump

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

First, let me be clear that the bad guys have already won and there’s nothing we can do about it. America is now a fascist state and the sooner we start to internalize this new normal, the better. So the following is more a bit of summer daydreaming than anything else. But I like to run scenarios and, as such, I thought it might be interesting to case out the ever-so-slight weaknesses to House Trump’s consolidation of power.

Trump’s Mental State
This is a very unpredictable variable. The reason I say this is it’s too easy for people like me to simply wave my hand and say, “Oh, by that point, Trump will finally go bonkers.” But it’s also a very real possibility that Trump will simply become an American Brezhnev and never quite get so bad as to be forced to leave office. To call him a functioning adult is already an extremely charitable assessment and absolutely nothing is being done about it, so, lulz.

So, it seems to me that what might happen is as Trump gradually grows even less functioning that people like Jared and Interior Minister Bill Barr will pick up the slack. It’s my impression that they already do that, but they still have a lot of room for growth in their power behind the throne.

Really, I guess what might cause some problems for House Trump is if Trump himself is confronted with an outside event that his mind simply isn’t able to process. This has already happened with the COVID19 pademic, but he’s largely righted himself. Hence, something else would have to happen that would lay bare that Trump should no longer be in office, fuck how close we are to the election.

The only things I can think of that might trigger such an unlikely situation is either a war or Trump’s criminality fusing with his insanity in such a way that his popularity dips from 38% to something closer to 20%. But that is really something we can’t predict. It would be something extremely unexpected. So, in a sense, it’s simply a liberal fever dream to think it might happen at all. The only reason why I bring it up is, well, maybe it’s part of my personal effort to process that I now live in a fascist state?

Electoral College Shenanigans
Another possibility is something happens that causes Trump is finally snap in a demonstrable fashion. It’s possible that the very thing I see as the single biggest existential flaw in the Constitution — that we have to rely upon Electors who are human being to vote for president — might cause House Trump some problems. Humans are notoriously weird — especially when power is involved — and if Trump simply can’t process that the Electors might vote against him despite his best efforts to steal the election, he might do a very ham-handed power grab that would turn the country against him in a major way.

I used to think that might be his possible downfall, but the more I think about it, since we’re a fascist state now, Interior Minister Barr would simply pick up the slack and Trump would continue to be president. Things are really, really politically dark in the United States right now and I fear Twitter liberals are rather oblivious to how nasty things are going to get in the coming days.

Really, as I’ve said before, the only clear cut way I could see House Trump facing any accountability for the next 20 to 40 years would be Trump bungling a war with the DPRK and being personally held accountable for, say, Alabama being vaporized by a off target DPRK ICBM.

That might do the trick. Maybe.

Countdown To American Fascism: The New Normal

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

Sometimes the biggest “secrets” are right there in public and it’s a matter of time and context for them to come out. As such, the biggest non-secret secret out there today is House Trump is going to successfully steal the 2020 election in a rather brazen fashion.

A lot of Twitter liberals will gnash their teeth during and after this theft, but it will happen. Too many powerful people — both inside and outside the United States — no longer see traditional liberal democracy in America as legitimate. They see it as a means to an end — power and money. As such, the 2020 election will be the final death knell of the America that I grew up in.

There simply will be no going back.

We will have a new normal in the real world that we’re going to have to deal with. The biggest thing will be soon after Trump successfully steals his second term, there will be a broad and deep purging of media in the United States via various and sundry authoritarian tools. This is important because once you finally strangle the free press, then you can quite literally get away with bloody murder and, lulz, who’s going to report about it?

So, no later than, say, late 2021, House Trump is going to start both snatching people off the street and pushing people out of windows. You might protest that we’ll know about this via social media, but all signs point to Trump getting his friend Mark Zuckerburg to end free speech there. Twitter, meanwhile, will likely be bought by a “German Industrialist.”

And, remember, in the back pocket of House Trump is the end of net neutrality. It would be very easy now for them to use their fucking “light touch” regulation to totally revamp Internet usage in the United States to such an extent that it would be nothing more than a pipeline for MAGA bullshit.

Barring something pretty spectacular that I can’t predict — which isn’t going to happen, just like it didn’t happen with Impeachment — we will have a new normal in the former “land of the free.” We’re going to be little more than autocratic “managed democracy” like they have in Russia.

Sure, occasionally House Trump will get in trouble by arresting a senator, representative, governor or mayor they don’t like, but in the end they will get what they want — to stay in power. And don’t forget that Putin is estimated to be the wealthiest man on the planet. It’s not hard to imagine House Trump growing significantly more wealthy than even that given the much bigger economy they have to leech off of.

Just like with impeachment anyone who thought there was a chance Trump would actually be convicted was delusional, so, too, is anyone who thinks House Trump is going to let free and fair elections happen. That’s just not going to happen. The center-Left in the United States is simply too divided, too ineffectual for there to be any significant, successful push back to the type of brazen election meddling that is going to happen in the fall.

It’s already happening now and we’re not doing anything about it other than writing nasty tweets.

We’re at the beginning of the House Trump dynasty. It will be somewhere in the 20 to 40 year range before the fucking Baby Boomers will finally drop dead and something might change. For the time being, though, America is a fascist state and the sooner people start to re-evaluate their real life interactions with the government, the better.

Living in Fascist America

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

Barring some spectacular and unforeseen event between now and January, Trump is going to steal the 2020 election in a rather brazen fashion. It will be so brazen, in fact, that the press simply won’t know how to process it. They will “both sides” the whole thing to such an extent that their actual coverage will be meaningless.

All that will matter is Trump gets a second term and that’s that.

The truly tragic thing about this clusterfuck is we’re going into it with our eyes wide open. I know way too many fucking MAGA fascists and they all look forward eagerly for what I would consider a nightmare. And, really, I suspect they’re going to be quite content when Trump turns the United States into an autocratic one party state.

That is, of course, until it gets personal. That’s when they’re going to whine and whine about whatever happened. Or maybe they won’t. Maybe by that point they will have such a vested interest in Trump’s tyranny they’ll simply be Trump’s Willing Executioners.

The point of all of this is liberal democracy in the United States died when Trump was acquitted by the Senate. Yes, Trump’s astonishingly horrific handling of the COVID19 pandemic for a moment put his political fate in doubt, but that’s long over. Not only have his poll numbers stabilized, but he’s actively working to make it as difficult to vote during this pandemic as possible.

It’s because of this that Trump “winning” a second term is a foregone conclusion at this point. Just like we were deluding ourselves to think there was a chance he would be convicted by the Senate, so, too, are we deluding ourselves to think Trump isn’t going to get a second term, one way or another.

I’m trying to personally come to grips with how bad Trump’s second term is going to be. Once you slice the seal on tyranny, there’s no way to put it back in the bottle. In 2021, Trump is going to purge all TV of anyone he disagrees with and then begin to rant about how badly we need a Constitutional Convention to “pass a balanced budget amendment.”

Once the Constitutional Convention is convened — because it is made up of mostly MAGA people selected by state legislatures — it will go rogue (with a lot of egging from Trump) and pass a slew of American Enabling Acts that will make the United States little more than Trumplandia.

I have to begin to come to grips with the cold, hard truth that no one is going to save us. No scandal is going to “bring down” House Trump. And, really, the only thing that might causes a little bit of a hiccup for Trump’s final consolidation of power is, well, Trump himself. He’s not only an insane moron, he’s also criminally incompetent. And a well-known self-own artist.

So, anything is possible.

But I have to begin to accept that at some point in Trump’s second term things are going to get really personal for me. Like, REALLY PERSONAL. I’m either goig to be snatched off the street and crammed into a ICE camp, or I’m simply going to be pushed out a window.

I have to come to grips with that fate.

President Mattis?

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

We are careening towards a constitutional crisis the likes of which we’ve never seen for the simple reason that MAGA Republicans don’t see democracy as legitimate anymore. So all bets are off should Biden overcome a series of pretty huge obstacles to actually been sworn in as president in January.

Before I go any further, let me make it clear — Trump is throwing everything he has at the 2020 election so it’s not free and fair. And he’s doing it in a rather brazen fashion to such an extent that he actually wraps up his “victory” if not on election night, then soon afterwards.

Yet make no mistake, Trump is going to steal the election.

In fact, the likelihood that Trump leaves office for any political reason is equal to the likelihood he was ever going to get convicted by the Senate — 0. So all of this is just a fantasiam, a bit of mental masturbation.

But let’s just play pretend. Somehow, after about three months of repeated cliffhangers, we have the final cliffhanger — now that we’ve managed to get the Electoral College to vote for the popular vote winner Biden, what is Trump and MAGA going to do about it?

Well, they’re going to freak out.

Trump’s criminality and his insanity will fuse and he’ll drop any number of huge bombs on the situation. If he hasn’t ready, he may indict Biden direction then try to work out some agreement whereby in exchange for dropping the charges on Biden, we let him off scot free. Or something. There will be rolling MAGA political violence across the country.

But, in the end, the issue will be the military. The military may have to step in after 240 years of avoiding it. As such, we might find ourselves in some pretty surreal situations.

I could see something like Gen. Mattis being named president by the Electors in some sort of Grand Compromise that would avoid a civil war and allow the country to calm down enough to try to punt the situation down the road until the 2022 midterms. And that’s a best case scenario!

The worst case scenario is even the military would be divided and we would have a limited civil war as MAGA ratchets up the violence in an attempt to make it clear that any outcome that doesn’t involve House Trump ending up on top isn’t going to be seen as valid by 38% of the electorate.

Somewhere in that same spectrum would be a Unity Government of some sort, where by maybe Biden gets to be president only on the condition that, say, Ivanka is Biden’s veep. Biden is old, after all, and that might be enough for House Trump to extremely reluctantly abide by a Grand Compromise.

Anyway, again, the issue is the United State is no longer a liberal democracy. We’re a fascist state. The bad guys have won and they’re going to start snatching people off the street when they’re not pushing them out of windows.

Countdown To American Fascism: The Final Pivot

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

The thing that Twitter liberals are so oblivious about is about 38% of the electorate is so afraid of the Browning of America (and other things) on an existential level that they eagerly await the ice cold embrace of autocratic rule. So, in a sense, the worst nightmare of myself and Twitter liberals is their dream. MAGA believes that only through autocratic rule can they prevent the Browning of America, bring back high paying jobs for poorly educated men and get women to date men they previously would not date.

Or something.

The point is, it is such a law of nature at this point that Trump is going to brazenly steal the election with the ardent support of 38% of the electorate that we need to start thinking of about this new normal and how people who oppose MAGA fit into it.

The time for scoring points on Twitter is over. Twitter is not the real world. If Twitter liberals don’t stop conspicuously gnashing their teeth on online and start figuring out what to do in the real world where their lives, careers and families are at stake and at risk, then, well, lulz. The key thing to remember is once Trump steals the 2020 election, he’s likely to move pretty quickly to consolidate power.

Form follows function, so the first step would be a overall purge of the media of anti-Trump voices via various and sundry methods. Once the “fake news” is no more, then the whole snatching people off the street and pushing them out the window thing can commence because, lulz, how are people going to find out about it?

This raises the question — what will the final MAGA piviot be? When they finally feel “America is great again,” how exactly is that going to play out?

Well, probably what is going to happen on a individual level is a lot of arguments on social media will simply end with MAGA people saying, “You’d better be quiet if you know what’s good for you.” Of course, there’s a very good possibility that not even that will have the opportunity to happen because Facebook — and Twitter — may have become arms of the government and they will restrict what you can and can’t say on social media.

The thing that a lot of Twitter liberals are going to have to begin looking at is Russia. Right now, if Russia’s Far East, there are massive protests because Putin’s thugs arrested a governor. But, in real terms, nothing is happening and nothing will. Putin still has power and fuck you.

So, that’s what’s going to happen in the States gradually (or maybe not so gradually) in Trump’s stolen second term. Throw in a Constitutional Convention that passes American Enabling Acts and, lulz, House Trump will finally consolidate near-absolute power and finally turn America into the white ethno-state all their MAGA sycophants have longed for.

Legal immigration has already been cut in half, and there’s no reason to believe it won’t be cut down to near zero after Trump steals the election. They might let a few white au pairs in, but that’s about it. Rich people gotta raise their kids, you know.

But back to the issue at hand.

The ICE Camps will begin to be filled up with Twitter liberals and people like me. We will have a very extensive camp system that we only hear about via foreign news sources like the BBC.

I used to think American weren’t Russians, but not anymore.

We’re Russians.

Countdown To American Fascism: Trump’s Coming EO Zeroing Out The ACA

by Shelt Garner
@sheltgarner

So, there’s this lawyer, John Yoo. He has come up with a legal doctrine for why Trump can legally be a dictator under the Constitution. Hence Trump’s weird news about protecting people from pre-existing conditions, something currently already done by the ACA. He’s going to do an Executive Order that zero’s out the ACA. Then he’s going to cherrypick the most politically popular bits and claim them as his own.

That Twitter liberals a making fun for Trump for this apparently redundant move about pre-existing conditions is a sign of how oblivious they are to how bad things are in real terms in the United States.

We’re now officially so far down the road to tyranny that we’re IN tyranny. And, really, the issue is because of the Overton Window and various forms of ratfucking on the part of Trump’s political goons, the only way the fascists who support Trump will ever care is if it becomes personal. Then they’ll scream bloody murder but it will be way, way, way, way too late.

It’s already too late.

Again, I wish there was something on a practical level I could tell you that would make matters better. But I honestly can’t think of anything. Trump is going to sign a series of EO’s between now and Election Day that the MAGA echo chamber will spin as the second coming of Jesus Fucking Christ.

At this point, the only thing that is actually holding Trump back is American self-perception. So fascism is here in America. Trump’s consolidation of power is well on its way and on a macro level there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

I wish I was smart enough to think up some way to mitigate this situation, but, alas, I’m not. I fully expect to be either snatched off the street or pushed out a window at some point in Trump’s stolen second term.

Goodnight and good-luck.
