Maybe it’s not so bad that Russian spies and trolls might be reading this blog to get tips — at least they might come up with a post-civil war America scenario better than this one.
This is not at all what would happen to the U.S. If there was some sort of collapse, it would totally be a Red V. Blue situation, not a collapse into regions. And it would be far, far more messy than the map above might have you believe. There would be millions — MILLIONS — of domestic political refugees as people bounced around, look for someone to live that better fit their personal political views.
Anyway. I would suggest the Russians slow their roll with their drooling at the possibility that the US will collapse. It could be that we just turn into an autocracy.
I keep getting pings from deep inside of Russia from people reading my dystopian hellscape scenarios about America’s future. It’s clear that it’s not SPIES reading this blog, it’s Russian TROLLS.
Some of the bullshit on social media these days in regards to the stand off between Federal and Texas forces is jaw dropping. It’s just pure and total bullshit. And, yet, here we are, with MAGA rubes lapping it up.
The idea that I might be helping Russian trolls fuck with the minds of my fellow Americans fills me with a great deal of angst. But, alas, there’s not much I can do about it now, I suppose.
Once something is on the Internet, it’s there forever.
It’s so rare for anyone to give a shit about what I have to say about ANYTHING, that I totally didn’t think that all my verbiage about the prospect of a Second American Civil War might catch the attention of America’s enemies.
I don’t KNOW that Russian — and Chinese — spies read this blog, but sometimes, some of the things I see in my Webstats make me scratch my head. Anyway, I suspect much of the “Texit” talk on social media at the moment is just talk on the part of Russian paid trolls.
We aren’t near the tipping point that will happen either in late 2024 when Trump loses or at some point after January 2025 if Trump wins and is deposed for being a bonkers MAGA tyrant.
Otherwise, I think we can just cool it with any sort of secession talk on the part of Texas — or anyone else.
At least one notable Russian thinks that the U.S. will be so “leaderless” in late 2024, early 2025 that they can strike Europe with impunity. While if you were to read this blog on a regular basis, you might think that was *possible*, even I have my doubts.
The two main scenarios facing us are Trump wins and there’s a major re-alignment of the global order and Trump loses and we somehow have a civil war. There is a third, less likely scenario, whereby Trump loses and…nothing happens.
I can’t predict the future. I have no idea what is going to happen. But I am worried that Something Big will happen in late 2024, early 2025. Does that mean Russia will be able to invade Europe at will? I dunno about THAT. But I do think it’s at least *possible* that there will be so much mass chaos taking place in late 2024, early 2025 for various Trump-related reasons that, yeah, maybe.
But the U.S. Military so powerful that even if Russia attacked, say, Poland, we could still put a hurting on Russia, even if the rest of the military was being force into an untenable situation by ding-dong Trump.
Yet, let me be clear — I can’t predict the future. It’s possible that the coming year will be rather meh or something unexpected will happen that will punt our problems down the road another four years.
Just from casual observation, it definitely seems as though — if Twitter is any indication — MAGA is getting rather riled up at the moment over the Trump indictments.
I’m wrong all the time, but it’s possible — possible — that things might grow unstable in Miami because of Trump’s arraignment. It’s a happening within easy driving distance of a bunk of fucking bonkers MAGA people, so….I don’t know. It’s something to think about.
I have no idea what might happen….but I’m growing more and more concerned that SOMETHING violent might occur. And, that doesn’t even take into account that there is going to be a lot of pressure on House Republicans to make a snap impeachment of Biden in a an eye-for-an-eye type situation of total political war.
So. We continue to learn that the Federal government has growing evidence that ding-dong Trump was actively working to hide documents from them when they realized he had stolen them.
Now, the conventional wisdom at the moment is that it was pure vanity — Trump thought it was cool to have top secret documents and he was too stupid to care about how badly he was breaking the law.
But if there is one thing equal to how stupid Trump is, or his sense of self-preservation…it’s his greed. As such, I’m not prepared to dismiss the idea that idiot Trump realized the potential value of the classified documents he stole and he had some sense, in the back of his mind, that maybe he might be able to profit from them in some way.
This is, of course, pure speculation on my part, but I’m just not prepared to let that idiot off the hook so easy. Trump is so fucking stupid and is graded on such a fucking curve by people who should now better that it definitely makes you wonder what all his doughface defends would say if we finally, finally caught him doing a big boy crime: treason.
But, lulz, who knows with Trump. It definitely, at the moment, seems as though that idiot is going to force the issue of civil war or autocracy in 2024 and single handedly put America at the bring of collapse.
Nothing sums up how dangerous idiot Ron “Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer” DeSantis is than the following tweet:
The reason why this is so dangerous is the type of mentality it indicates. Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer knows damn well that the Constitution is very explicit that a govenor can do jackshit to stop a criminal being extradited to another state.
And, yet, he says it anyway.
Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer loves, loves, loves to, like Trump, stress test the system to see what he can get away with. So, God forbid, Trump decides to hunker down in Mar-a-Lago after giving the issue some though, DeSantis could very well be put in a position where he is forced to lose face AGAIN when the Federal government swoops in and handles extradition itself.
But it’s clear that if Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer becomes POTUS, he will be America’s Putin. I’m beginning to think, however, that he’s going to hold off running until 2028. Even though if Trump wins in 2024, DeSantis may be president of just the Red States, given how we’re careening towards a very, very dark future in late 2024, early 2025.
It seems as though — as of now — whatever happens with Trump and his (first?) indictment will be historic but mundane. Allegedly, Trump plans to surrender himself next week in NYC and that will be that. He may not even have a perp walk. Though his mug shot will be so historic that it will be the “Candle in The Wind” of anti-Trump merch.
There is, of course, a greater-than-zero-sum chance that ding-dong will give it some thought over the weekend and change his mind. What better way to cause as much fucking damage as possible than to hold up in Mar-a-Lago. And Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer DeSantis has already — despite the U.S. Constitution not giving a shit what he thinks — made it clear he won’t help with any extradition.
My current concern is what happens between now and when Trump is arraigned. If Trump really goes transactional and insane — maybe even returning to Twitter along the way — how many people within the MAGA ranks will be willing to cause problems? If there are any problems, I would suggest you keep an eye on Arizona, D.C., Florida and NYC.
But one thing is clear — the longer this process drags out, the more momentum will build for significant political violence of some sort. That’s what happened with January 6th — Trump had several months to rant and organize the violence that almost successfully staged America’s first coup.
Another issue — is it possible that the political equation has changed now that this particular boil has been sliced and a veritable calicade of indictments will now rain down on ding-dong because it’s been proven that it’s not the end of the world to indict a former president? Trump has so successfully bent the law to his will because of politics that when things snap back into place, it may be a sight to see.
In a sense, this is just the beginning of a series of potentially historic, jaw-dropping events. Stay tuned.
I don’t know what to tell you folks. I’m of an age where I so jaded that I automatically assume that anything that seems too good be true — is. But you just try to be the best person you can be, I suppose.
I look at what’s going on with American politics these days and I can’t help but be alarmed that my predictions of the United States having the existential choice of autocracy or civil war in late 2024, early 2025 will come true. And here I am, trying to get my first novel sold.
But, lulz, nothing matters.
The novel is getting better by leaps and bounds. At the moment at least, I feel like I have a pretty good handle on how to step up the pace when it comes to writing the second draft. I say this all the time and then I reach a crucial point where everything falls apart and I have to pick up the peices.
But, who knows, maybe this time things will work out and I will get back on track to querying as early as this fall, no latter than about a year from now.
Anyone who doesn’t think House Republicans are going to wallow in some pretty stupid shit for the next two years is a fool. They don’t care that they’re going to massively self-own by overreaching. That’s not the point. The point is to suck their own cocks in an effort to stroke the MAGA base.
The MAGA base lives in its own la la land to the point that some pretty stupid shit is going to be investigated to such an extent that Republicans are going to do serious political damage to themselves — and the country as a whole. But the United States isn’t a democracy anymore, but rather an “anocracy” so, this is it — the final countdown.
It’s at least possible that Trump will win the 2024 nomination and in 2024 the administration of elections will be corrupted by MAGA cocksuckers AND there could be real political violence.
So, lulz, it doesn’t matter, in real terms, what House Republicans do. They are going to impeach a lot — A LOT — of people in the Biden Administration and they’re just going to wallow in Hunter Biden to the point that it will be lodged in the average voter’s mind like BENGHAZI! (Which is the point.)
