When she’s not posting devastating post-break up images to Instagram, is it possible that Anna Marie Tendler has time to bang every wine aunt’s wet dream Timothee Chalamet?
I find this suggestion very dubious. But, maybe? Stranger things have happened, I guess. And either the sex was great or it was VERY BAD. There’s no way someone could be going through as break up as horrific as Ms. Tendler’s without one of those two results being the endgame.
It’s not like it would have been just revenge sex. It would either have been Oh My God, What Have I Done Sex, or Revenge Sex. No in between. Anyway, it’s all very curious. This whole thing continues to get more and more messy.
Do I really have to do this? Apparently, so, since I’ve gotten at least one ping from some rando in Texas who definitely seems interested in making my fears about Sept 18 come true. (I think they may have shared my recent post on the subject.)
Given that, let’s run the worse case scenario for what might happen this weekend.
There are a lot of known unknowns. One is, the amount of organization on the part of the protesters and their intent. Do they intend to do a replay of what happened on Jan 6th, or are they just angry and what to prove a point? The key issue is how organized they are and if they have it in them to storm the Capitol again.
A fence is being up around the Capitol, so if this weekend’s protesters freaked out, at least they would have to get past that. It could be that they just want to, in general, fuck shit up. That they don’t want something as grant as taking the Capitol, just cause problems.
So, a lot — A LOT — of problems would have to go wrong for the Capitol to be seized again. And, really, if they took the Capitol, the key issue would what they did with once they got it. If they take the Capitol again, they would need a security perimeter around the Capitol. And from what I can tell, they just don’t have the people to establish such a perimeter.
As such, I think while there may be violence this weekend, relative to what happened on Jan 6th, will be a dud.
Editor’s Note: What was I thinking????? Still not a fan of MGK, but at least he’s not as deranged as Conor McGregor. Carry on.
First, I don’t care. Lulz. Second, I’m hard at work on the first of four novels I’m writing simultaneously and I need a bit of a distraction while I do that. So, let’s talk about the real important issue of the day: who would make a better babydaddy for Megan Fox, Machine Gun Kelly or Conor McGregor?
The potential love triangle in question.
I totally understand why Fox is banging MGK. I get it. She’s an older woman who wants to fuck a younger guy — one young, dumb and full of cum with a huge cock, fame and lots of money. Ok, ok, that makes sense. It’s just…he kind of looks like a twink that was pushed into a vat of testosterone.
Megan Fox is a brunette, so it would make a lot more sense for her to date Pete Davidson than MGK — and Davidson has become Mr. Home and Harth of late for some reason. I think he could probably get talked into being Megan Fox’s babydaddy.
But, it’s Conor McGregor who is our other option.
He made his move at the MTV Video awards. He made his point — he got Fox’s attention. That’s all he had to do. Now, he waits and sees if Fox slides into his DMs on the DL, as the kids say.
It just seems, to me, a rando, that Fox and McGregor would make a much bigger celebrity power couple. McGregor gives off Jason Statham vibes — even if he’s a bit more twitchy — but if he was Fox’s babydaddy, the event would take them both into another level of celebrity. And, I think, McGregor is man enough that he would at least TRY to stick around should Fox become great with child.
The key issue with the January 6th attack on the Capitol was the element of surprise. It just did not even occur to anyone outside of far Right circles that anything was even possible. So when it happened, there was not enough security and what security there was, was not prepared and was easily over run.
As such, I seriously doubt there will be anything like what happened on January 6th at this weekend’s Sept 18th protest near the Capitol. I guess it’s still possible, it’s just not probable. And, really, if they did manage to do it again, they really need to put some more forethought into revolt’s security around the Capitol once they seize it.
If they can just have some order to their bonkers Hail Mary Pass move, they could join the Paris Commune in the history books as surreal political events. But these guys, thankfully, remain just a political grunt. And if they’re that organized to think about things like that, then we’re REALLY in trouble.
So, what I think will happen is the whole thing will give us PTSD from January 6th, but in the end it will be a lulz. That, at least, it what I think — hope — will be the maximum extent of any problems.
Oh boy. Or, should I say…oh girl. Reviewing in my mind the male – female ratio character radio in my mind of these four novels I’m developing and writing and there appear to be a lot more female characters than male characters.
What do I know.
I know why this is.
First, I love women and if I’m going to think about a fictional person as is required to develop a “person” and not a “character,” I’d at least like that person to be a woman. Second, developing a female character is far, far more interesting and challenging.
But this also comes with amount of baggage. You can’t just “write a man then switch the pronouns” as is often suggested. Anyone who believes that is an oblivious idiot. The reason why they say that is so male writers won’t choke when it comes to writing from a female point of view.
And, yet, it gets worse!
Another problem is, by definition, there is a large segment of the female audience that hates the very idea of a man writing from a female point of view, no matter how well meaning they may be.
It’s all so problematic, conflated and annoying that all you can do is just figure out what your story is and press forward.
Given the sheer volume of horrible (sometimes “woke”) hot takes to be found on Tik-Tok, the Chinese government may bring down the United States without firing a shot.
Or, to put it another way, the “algorithms” that are definitely not reading my mind, seem to push me bad hot take after bad hot take. Sometimes, the hot takes in the comments are so very very bad that you feel less intelligent for having read them. Like, I saw one that said, that novels “don’t have acts.” Uh, what?
Then there are numerous hot takes on the John Mulaney – Olivia Munn — Anna Marie Tendler imbroglio. Then there are the weird hot takes about the Met Gala that leave me saying OH, COME ON. For instance, someone said the fuss over the below look was unwarranted because, lulz, to her pegging was something only bottoms got worked up over and to her, it was just sex.
You better work.
I will note, in passing, that I worry that the Chinese government may be fucking with our pop culture by making people like Bella Poarch famous for….what? Bobbing her head and being hot? (I still don’t get that one, but, then, I’m an Old..)
I just checked Anthony Fantano’s review of Kacey Musgraves’ latest album and my jaw dropped at how much he hated it. I mean, HE REALLY HATED IT. Nothing he said about why he hated it did not make sense or wasn’t based in some sort of logic.
While Fantano is the “hardest working Internet music nerd,” I’m just a dude who likes good music. I’m impressed with Fantano’s reviews. My only quibble being he sometimes gets into the weeds of the music to the point that he misses the overall picture.
But, honestly, that’s kind of his thing — to obsess over the details of music.
With that in mind, this is my other-end-of-the-spectrum review of Kacey Musgraves’ new album “star-crossed.” I’m putting little — if any — thought into this. Just giving you my gut reaction to the album overall.
I found the album rather enjoyable, even heart wrenching. I say this because to me, it’s not how much autotune was used, or this or that production technique was used, or even if a line or two of the lyrics might be flat.
It’s about the emotion the music evokes from you.
And, it seems to me Fantano was so obsessed with his metrics that he missed some pretty important aspects to the album — how much it was obviously a confessional. The lyrics tells maybe not THE truth of her divorce by A truth about what happened.
To me that’s what makes great pop music — does it tell a truth?
Some of his criticisms are just weird. The song “there is a light” is a bop in the context of being something that might keep people dancing if they already were. If people are dancing, they don’t care how production value, or how stupid some of the lyrics are, they just need a nice beat. And I could definitely see a few even more dancable remixes being spun off the track.
Anyway, I’m not going through the whole track list. I’m just giving you a general sense of what I though of the album. The album’s not perfect, but it’s quality entertainment and it definitely tells A Truth.
It’s time to, at last, put Seoul behind me. I may return to Seoul one day, but it won’t be the same. I went back to Seoul one last time about 10 years ago and everything had changed.
I need to look forward. But I would like to return one last time before I drop dead.
For some reason, I find myself thinking about the late Annie Shapiro a lot of late. I think it’s probably because I’m getting psyched up with a second creative track: that of a (fashion?) photographer.
Anyway, it was Annie who revolutionized how I saw myself. Before I met her, I was a drunk failed journalists. After I met her, I was a drunk creative person who realized I had a lot of untapped creative abilities.

But there are some caveats to any romanticized depiction of Ms. Shapiro. She was very, very strange in her own way and she terrorized me on an emotional level. Yet, of course, in all honesty, I have to admit that I gave back as much as I got when ROKon Magazine came back without me.
And, yet, I also have to admit that Annie was able to pull of a hatrick when she got the magazine going again without me — in secret! I don’t know what to tell you. All I got is, things are beginning to fall into place on a creative level for me.
Do I miss Annie? That’s a very good question.
I think I definitely miss the lack of an opportunity for us to talk to each other every once in a while. But she was so mysterious and secretive that it’s dubious that even that would have happened if she was still alive.
Anyway. I need to stop wallowing in the past. Time to look forward.
At the moment, ding-dong Trump AGAIN holds the entire fate of the United States in his teeny-tiny hands. I say this because we face a far different future if someone else is the Republican nominee in 2024 than we do if it’s him. If its DeSantis or Cotton or Hawley or Pompeo, then we’re probably going to slip peacefully into some form of autocracy.
Good German Republicans will call people like me hysterical as we slowly — then not so slowly — begin to lose some rights that we’ve assumed we’d always have. Everything will come to a head when the argument of the day is if we’re going to have a MAGA-themed Constitutional Convention or not. It will be pitched to traditional American conservatives as the “only way” to pass a balanced budget amendment.
Then, lulz, fuck you, lib, it goes rouge and I definitely end up dead at the hands of a ICE agent.
But if Trump runs again, he is soooooo fucking stupid and incompetent that he could single handedly force the United States into a civil war. And it’s going to be Blue States who leave the Union. Remember, a lot — and I mean A LOT — of things would have to go wrong for us to get to that point.
The U.S. Military would have to sit back and let Blue States hold Secession Conventions. But, maybe they will.
Anyway, if it is Blue States who leave the Union (or try) and California stays with the Blue State Union then we’re probably going to bomb ourselves into oblivion using WMD.
I keep talking about this hysterical “doom shit” because Republicans are radicalized and so anti-democratic at this point that what else is going to happen? Why would anyone thing anything else is going to happen?
It seems as though the people who think I peddle political disaster porn either think the law is going to save us, or they tacitly agree with the coming autocracy we may face.
All I know, something’s gotta give. At some point the modern day Slave Power of MAGA either gets its way and establishes an white Christian ethno state, or there’s a civil war and (hopefully) its gaping wound gets cauterized.
